About Us

Established in 1996, we are a fully licensed child care center by D.C.Y.F. and R.I. Department of Education. Our services include full time and part time infant, toddler and preschool care. In addition, we offer full day kindergarten, before and after school programs and a summer program (6-12 year olds).

Our facility is located at 87 Putnam Avenue (Route 44) in Johnston, RI. We are conveniently located 1.5 miles from Rt. 295 and 0.5 miles from Mineral Spring Avenue in North Providence. We have a 5,000 square foot state of the art facility, with an additional 5,000 square foot outdoor playground. Our hours of operation are Monday - Friday 6:30 am to 5:30 pm.

All of our teachers and staff are fully certified in C.P.R. and First Aid. Our teachers and staff are very active in early childhood classes, workshops, and conferences. Our dedicated teachers and staff are committed to providing the very best care for your children each and everyday.

Owners Kerri and Derrick Polseno: Kerri is the Director, her experience in Early Childhood is over 20 years. She has a BA in Early Childhood Education. Derrick is the Facility Manager.	Miss Gail is our Educational Coordinator. She has her BA degree and Master Degree in Education. She has over 30 years experience and is CPR and First Aid certified. She has been with Johnston Child Care since 2004.	Miss Lauren is our head teacher. She has been working at Johnston Child Care since 2004. She is our full-day Kindergarten teacher. She has her BA degree in Early Childhood Education with a Concentration in English. She has experience in all classrooms and is CPR and First Aid certified.	Miss Glenda is a preschool teacher and has been with Johnston Child Care since 2006. Glenda has over 20 years experience working with children. She is CPR and First Aid certified.
Miss Ellie has been with Johnston Child Care since 1999. She is the assistant director for the infant/toddler program and infant lead teacher. She has over 20 years experience with children, attends early childhood workshops, and is CPR and First Aid certified.	Miss Debbie works with our infant and toddler children.  She has been with Johnston Child Care since 2002. She attends early childhood workshops and is certified in CPR and First Aid.	Nurse Karen is our LPN. She has been with our school since 2001. She is active in nurse workshops and conferences. Karen is also certified in CPR and First Aid.	Miss Kayla is our lead preschool teacher. She has her BA/BS degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. She has been working with Johnston Child Care since 2010.  She is certified in CPR and First Aid.
Miss Tonya is our toddler teacher, currently working on her Associates Degree from CCRI in Early Childhood Education. She has been working at Johnston Child Care since 2005 and is certified in CPR and First Aid.	Miss Lori is a  preschool teacher and has worked at Johnston Child Care Center since 2009.  She attends early childhood workshops. She is CPR and First Aid certified.	Miss Dawn works with our infant and toddler children. She has been working at Johnston Child Care since 2007. Dawn has over ten years experience working with children and is certified in CPR and First Aid.	Miss Danielle works with the infant and toddler children. She has been working at Johnston Child Care since 2009. She is currently a student at CCRI working towards her Early Childhood Education degree. She is certified in CPR and First Aid.
	Miss Terese is our administrative director. She has been working at Johnston Child Care since 1998.
